Hello Stranger! How Some People Make So Much of an Impression on Your Lives Just by Walking by You

Hello Strangers

I know like so many people I walk down the same path to work every morning. I have a usually slower walk than most hurrying to work. The one thing I wanted to write about for ages are how some people make so much of an impression on your lives just by walking by you.

It started two years ago when I started my new job. I was at home for a year so used to be so excited to just wake up in the morning and leave home to go to work. I loved my morning walk. It was a 20 minute walk which if you have been to Bristol is the path from the Temple Meads station to the Harbour side cutting across Queen Square Park. I love walking across the bridge over looking the boats and the view of the Castle Park. It is such a beautiful sight in the morning. The old and the new in the same line of sight and you a small speck of the present walking through just experiencing the wonder that it brings.

When ever I entered the park I always crossed a woman whom made me smile every morning and this is dedicated to her.

Mrs M was a short woman with long dark hair and was always in a hurry she took steps so much faster than possible from her small frame and often looked like she was just sailing across the path. She wore vibrant clothes and carried a large bag which often was half of her height. How I loved the sight of her she was always so colourfully dressed and seemed so content and happy with life in general. It must have been June we started passing each other everyday first a glance, then slowly after weeks a reluctant smile started. I think we just smiled at each other every morning for months without wanting anything more. Every morning when ever I reached the park I searched for her frame to appear somewhere and felt happy whenever she did. We were still at smiles and nothing more neither never wanting to stop or to know each other more we were simply happy to just feel the other's presence. During that period I became pregnant and by next year after Christmas I was showing a small bump I could see her beam more at me now every time she passed. I felt as if she knew. And by April there was no mistaking that my baby girl was on her way. Then one day when I was walking much slowly now as my gait had become, Mrs M stops. I still remember her face all happy for me.

"Congratulations! When are you due?"

"August 5th."

"Do you know if you're expecting a boy or a girl?"

"A girl"

"Are you happy with that?"

"Very"

"I am so happy for you. Bless you."

She starts walking and so do I, happy and beaming from ear to ear. From then on we look fondly at each other every morning as if we are now connected. Then I go off on maternity leave in June and forget all about her. Then one of my office friend with whom I normally had lunch tells me she was sitting in the park during lunch when Mrs M comes to her and said "I have seen you with that girl who was pregnant; Is she OK? Did she have her baby?" She told her I had a baby girl and we both are doing well. She looked really happy and said "Thank you" and left.

After a whole year of never seeing her again, I return to work in July this year. The first day work, I was asked to come in later at 9:45 once everyone is in so that I know where and what everyone is up to. I walk down the same path and there she is Mrs M, walking hurriedly looking down at the ground. When I come close she looks up and a smile as wide as mine spreads across her face.

"How have you been how is your baby?"

"We are doing good she will be one in another week"

"My god has it really been that long how time flies"

"Yes today is my first day back at work after maternity"

" Really? Don't worry you will be fine, Bless you, Take care!"

"You too"

And I walk towards my office so happy to have met a long lost friend.

Now I work from 8 o'clock in the morning instead of 9 when I used to see her every morning. I often remember her and scan faces to check if she is around. I know even if I did see her I won't exchange numbers or details. She is the beautiful stranger who has made my journey memorable and always made me smile.

This is dedicated to her, people who make a difference just by being there.

Girls - Don't Read This! The First Date

Greetings dating wannabies! I have realized over the last few years that a lot of my male viewers have come to me with questions about how to meet girls, and how to talk to girls and the best ways to approach girls.

One of the biggest issues with guys and dating is how to overcome the awkwardness of that first date. Well, up until now, I have been reluctant to share my advices on this. Why? Because all the ladies would start to figure out my secrets and tricks - and that's just not cool, right? Well not for me anyway.

But you know what? As I'm getting older I figured now might be a good time to pass on and share some of my dating tips and experiences to my fellow comrades. The thing is that, I have done my fair share of dating in the past, and regardless of if you think I'm good looking, ugly or none of the above the fact is that I've got the runs on the board - know what I'm saying?

Now, all girls close this article right now you're not allowed to read this! Close your computer, leave the room and go play with something else, you're no longer allowed here - capeesh!

Okay, now that all the busy body, mind sucking ladies have left the room, gather in guys.

Make sure you smell good!

First things first - the basics. Make sure you brush your teeth, flush your teeth, brush your teeth, wash your hair, clean your ears. Put on some body lotion, some deodorant but don't use too much after shave. Wear clean clothes, clean your car. Now, a girl will give you the up-and-down on a first date so make sure your shoes are clean. Remember, within those first 30 - 60 seconds a first date is all about making a good first impression.

If you look stinky, if you are stinky she will not want to put her face anywhere near you or your special bits, got it!

The date

So, here's a few things I love to do on the first date. Fellows, when you are sitting across the table on the first date, do not be scared to make eye contact, eye contact is vital. A lot of guys will be intimidated by long bouts of eye contact, they tip their head, shrug their shoulders and look away - and quite frankly this effects the way they communicate. Yeah maybe it's sort of shy and cute but if you can look at her straight in the eyes with a genuine smile and say stuff like "hey you look really pretty tonight, your hair looks great" then by doing this you are automatically forcing a connection with her.

Physical cliché

It's funny and goofy: and it works, let me explain an example. Pretend to accidentally kick her ankle under the table and say "hey why you trying to play footsies with me under the table" and she'll respond "me! that's you playing footsies under the table" and you can reply with something like "hey girl I don't know what you're on tonight I'm just sitting here trying to enjoy my meal and you're kicking me under the table trying to be dirty and stuff!" This kind of funny game can open the door to physical contact. Then things are not awkward anymore.

Now, let's say the date is going really well, this is how you can get a cute little sneaky kiss. I know that most girls like a kiss to be spontaneous but this little secret has always worked out for me. When you're at the dinner table say to her, "hey let's play spin the bottle": spin the bottle she says? you're like "yeah, let me grab the salt shaker as the bottle." Then spin the salt shaker so it points to her and you say, "oh, look at that it's pointing at you, we gotta kiss that means, do you want to be a rule breaker that's how the game works right?" Then you lean over the table and land one on her.

The lead up

These days, there's a lot of flirty conversations take place before the date via texting, Face booking etc. This is where you can see where her head is at before the big date. Say stuff like, "hey my favourite colour is pink, I just love pink I always have". Now, if she wears pink on the first date, you just know she is totally up for it and out to impress you and that she wore that colour for YOU.

So there we go, some secrets from my magic hat, use wisely and all success to you!

How To Talk To A Girl You Like - Start Talking Easily With the Girl of Your Dreams

Don't you hate having conversations which are all alike? So do women. No one wants to hear the same questions over and over, so if you can make yourself stand out, it's a lot easier to get someone's attention and start building attraction. Women are often approached by men and asked more or less the same questions every time; the result is a series of dull conversations that leads nowhere.

Make A Statement

Instead of grilling a woman you're interested with questions, take a different approach - try making statements instead. You'll still get the answer you were looking for, but you'll make more of an impression on her at the same time. If you're wrong, she'll correct you; and this may also open up the opportunity for a more personal chat. You might also be correct, in which case you may impress her and build a rapport almost instantly.

Open Up

Most of us don't find it terribly easy to open up about our emotions, insecurities or even our goals, especially the first time we talk to a woman who we want to make a good impression on. Even as difficult as it can be to do this, you have to - moving to a deeper level of conversation allows you to connect on an emotional level. We're usually more comfortable talking about anything but ourselves; and we've been socialized to avoid showing any sign of vulnerability.

However, women tend to see vulnerability as an asset, since they are much more likely than their male counterparts to acknowledge the strength that it can take to open up to someone else. If you can open up to a woman (without going overboard, of course), you'll have a much better chance of starting a conversation and keeping it going.

Build An Emotional Connection

Now that we've talked about the importance of opening up to a woman you're interested in, you're probably wondering how to do it. The best openings are to talk about the best (or worst) things that have happened to you in your life, about your childhood - or if these are a little too intense for you to go into the first time that you meet someone, talk about your passions in life. By opening up a little, you begin to build the trust and emotional rapport with her which allows her to open up to you as well. As long as you're willing and able to be a good listener and to hold up your end of the conversation, this just could be the beginning of something big!

When Hurt People Hurt People

There's hardly a more relevant truth in the relational life: hurt people hurt people. The stinging barbs that are deployed with ferociousness, land without warning in the flesh of the unknowing.

Because we all have the potential to be hurt, we all have the potential to hurt people.
There may be no more powerful a truth than this, considering that the biggest roles we play in life are via our interactions with other people.

We only need to think of a time when we have been hurt, to reconcile the potential we have within us to hurt others, because we were hurting. It really does work in a cause-and-effect fashion, notwithstanding the potential we all have to grow through maturity beyond it.

So what are we to do? How can we get to a state where we are beyond hurting others?

It may be overly simplistic to think in these terms, but surely we must have an effective way of dealing with the hurts that come our way - those that land in the midst of our flesh, potentially scarring us if we don't respond well.

GETTING BEYOND BEING HURT

Firstly, there is no perfect answer in developing our characters that we would be beyond being hurt, but we can work on our understanding and, in such, venture toward maturity.

We can come to understand that when we hurt people, or when people hurt us, there is a vacuum of love, because of the deluge of fear that is being dealt with. Fear propagates hurt. So, if we can get beyond our fear, or when others can, there is less hurt to deal with, and we may be strong enough in love to reject temptations to become hurt.

It really is important that we commit to this: to getting beyond being hurt.

Not that we should deny being hurt, because truth is fundamentally more important. (The first role in healing is acknowledgement of the truth.) But we can begin to understand how hurt is created and nurtured - in a seminary of fear. None of us wants to be fearful, so we should empathise with anyone (including ourselves) who is obviously in fear because of their (or our) propensity and willingness to hurt.

Getting beyond being hurt is about understanding the role of fear in the hurtful. How could our hearts not go out to the fearful?

***

Hurt people hurt people and they do so because of fear; a vacuum of love exists. Fear is horrible. When we understand the role of fear in the hurtful, compassion becomes us for them. Love drives out fear, so let us love the hurtful the best we can. It begins, continues on, and ends with forgiveness.

How Do You Get Your Ex Boyfriend Back From Another Girl?

Do you want to get your ex boyfriend back from his new girlfriend? It's shocking when a relationship ends but what's even harder is finding out that your ex has moved on. If you see him with another girl, you can't help feeling betrayed and angry especially if you are still in love with him.

Is there a chance for you to get him back even if he's seeing a new girl? Yes there is but you need to play your cards right. Better yet, you need to know the things you should avoid doing that would ruin your chances of getting your ex boyfriend back.

Mistakes women make when trying to get their ex back from another girl

· Having a harsh nature. Some women want to get violent with the other girl. Ripping her hair out won't win back your ex. In fact, you will only embarrass yourself because you will look like a complete basket case. You don't want people to look at you and think "look, it's the crazy ex girlfriend" do you?

· Being angry. If you accidentally run into your ex and his new girlfriend, play it cool. If you act out and show how annoyed you are, then you are giving them the upper hand. They will see how affected you are and your ex may feel uncomfortable or sorry for you. Worse, the new girl might feel smug because she'll think she's won.

· Letting him know that you're jealous. Some men expect their ex to feel jealous once they introduce their new girlfriend. If you show him that you are jealous, then you're giving him what he wants. This could be a game he's playing and you're letting him win if he sees that you're jealous.

What you need to do instead

· Make it seem like you're happy to meet her. When you do meet your ex's new girlfriend, give the impression that you're glad to meet her. Your ex might be confused as to why this doesn't bother you and he'll start to wonder if you've moved on as well.

· Don't pester him. Men don't like obsessive women and if you obsess about his new girlfriend, well then you will lose "attractive" points. He'll know that you're bothered if you keep commenting about her hair, the way she dresses, the way she talks, etc.

· Be desirable. Instead of bad mouthing his new girl, focus on becoming more desirable yourself. Go ahead and pamper yourself and do what you want to do to look good. After all, if you look good then you feel better about yourself. And when you feel better about yourself, then you become more confident. Have him thinking "is this really the girl I broke up with? Wow, she's hot!"

If you want to get your ex boyfriend back if he's seeing someone else, then you need to be prepared and act like it doesn't bother you. If you became friends with your ex, then he might mention his new relationship to you. Don't be unenthusiastic because he might be putting you to a test. You never know, this new relationship may not be serious and he's probably still sorting things out. If you show him that you're a mature and strong individual, then he might have second thoughts about breaking up with you.

Why Are Over Sixty Dating Sites So Popular?

With the number of over sixty singles rapidly on the rise, it is no wonder that there has been a dramatic increase in dating websites for the mature market. But why are over 60 dating sites so popular as opposed to the traditional methods of courting?

As we get older it becomes harder to meet new, single people as we already have a firm network of friends, colleagues and family who are off-limits. Most of the people we know are already in a relationship and it can be difficult to ask for help in being introduced to that special someone.

But just because something is difficult, it doesn't mean it's impossible!

Midlife singletons needn't say goodbye to their love life when there are millions of mature UK adults surfing the net looking for that perfect person to settle down with. Specially designed websites allow you to search discreetly in the safety and comfort of your own home for that special someone who shares your passions, wants and needs. You are in control of your profile, able to browse a wide selection of men or women and get to know each other via email and phone calls before you decide to meet face to face!

One of the most central reasons for dating is having another person to talk to and do things with, so with the over sixty singles group being the fastest growing crowd using the internet in the search for love, there's bound to be someone for everyone!

Just remember, when starting your online dating journey confidence is key. You have life experience and wisdom on your side, so be clear about you want in a person and out of a relationship; never settle for less!

Make an effort and spend some quality time with yourself; this means indulging in a good book, taking up a hobby you've been putting off or treating yourself to a day at the spa. The better you feel about yourself, the more confident and attractive you will be to the opposite sex!

Take care of yourself and always dress to impress whenever you leave the house; ditch the sweat pants, take pride in your appearance and hold your head high. The more you smile, the happier you will feel and this will make you shine.

Once you are feeling good about yourself, the more likely you are to attract the right kind of person to spend your precious time with.

The "Me" in Relationships

In David Keirsey's book, "Please Understand Me II", he talks about which temperament types are best suited for each other and we are in agreement that his format is very accurate. Keirsey has 4 basic temperament types, the Rational, the Artisan, the Idealist and the Guardian, with four variances of each category; the introvert, extrovert, judgmental, etc. However, for the purpose of this paper, we wish to add one more element, compatibility, that we think has as much impact on relationships as anything else, relationship in this sense being defined as marriage, dating, work or friendship.

When discussing relationships one must understand that each individual's upbringing has a bearing on the temperament types. For example, the Rational and the Idealist are what is considered by some as "Soul Mates;" however, if one individual is raised as a religious believer and the other as an atheist then, in most cases the soul mate connection is likely to be overlooked. If two Idealists meet they are considered "two peas in a pod", theoretically they would be a perfect match; however, if one individual is into drugs or alcohol and the other is not, then again, the connection can be lost.

Some of the best authors on relationships have written about getting along with each other by sharing, caring and respecting the other and it is worth noting that, in any balanced relationship there generally cannot be a 'Me', but a 'We' for the relationship to thrive. However, it bears saying that some relationships thrive better on the "Me" and "Me" relationship rather than the "We" relationship. When this temperament type occurs, the "Me" and "Me" combination, a phenomenon is formed called narcissistic temperament.

After many years of study and observation of temperament and personality types we have come to the conclusion that two people suffering the same disorder can make a perfect match. According to Heinz Kohut (1939 - 1981), in early childhood the individual has two basic narcissistic needs; the need for approval and validation from the environment of the subject's sense of grandiosity and omnipotence and, the need for a dialyzable external self-object to identify and fuse with as he constructs a stable sense of self. If this approval doesn't occur in their developmental years it can lead to frustration and a sense of low self-worth and inadequacy. To compensate for the lack of self-worth and the individual will externalize these feelings and blame others for their failures and shortcomings, making life almost intolerable for people around them. Therefore, individuals in any type of relationship with them must either, bow to their demands, leave or develop a great tolerance.

However, people with narcissistic traits can have a meaningful emotional connection with a person that has similar traits. Since each party feels a sense of grandiosity and omnipotence they 'feed' off each other by telling each other how wonderful, smart or beautiful they are, thus fulfilling their own need of self-worth while, in actuality, providing the attention they themselves crave. On the other hand, others, that do not 'feed' this neediness, challenges their knowledge base or, bow to the narcissist all-knowing wisdom, the individual, will be shunned. The narcissist will not listen to any advice, in relationships or most any endeavor but will learn strictly by trial and error to protect their fragile and tenuous hold on their self-worth. Contact with the non-conformist will be avoided while at the same time expressing negatives or stating that they could have performed better to make the other look bad and make themselves look better. The partner in the "Me/Me" relationship will completely understand the consternation of the other because of their shared narcissism; "How could it be any other way?"

In some groups there seems to always be someone that is described as "self-centered", "egotistical", or just plain rude, and others seem to be hesitant to associate with him or her. When a best friend or spouse is asked about this behavior the likely answer will be "They are just misunderstood, they seem like a nice person to me". The individual making that statement has either great insight, is also a narcissist, has low self-esteem or has just decided to bow to the authority of the narcissist.

The formation of a relationship that is based on the narcissistic temperament can be very rewarding for the individuals involved when nurtured and developed in the correct environment. A relationship that is based within the world of "You are Me and I am You" can be conducted in an inclusive world where only those two enclosed in the relationship share a very romantic, fantasy-like existence of symbolic self-importance without ever concerning themselves about what those around them are thinking of them. Further, they can conduct their lives in a way that fulfills exactly what they need; a reflection of self.
